Library Information for Patrons Who Speak Spanish

Percent of People 5 Years and Over Who Speak Spanish at Home: 2005

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are over 32 million people in this country who speak Spanish in their homes. Over 150,000 Kansans speak Spanish in their homes. It might be difficult for those people to utilize available public services, including services offered by libraries. While Mabee Library isn't a "Public Library," Washburn University has a culturally-diverse student population, and the library's services are available to all Kansans. The following Web sites can assist both patrons and librarians with translating library vernacular to and from Spanish.
